The first day of class: September 2nd

My first thoughts of this class was is that it seems very daunting as I am not the most confident writer and I don't know much about curation. It seems that a good majority of the class has some sort of summer internship that a museum or art gallery, where as I worked as a waitress all summer and didn't have much time to explore new exhibits. I feel confident that this class will be challenging but very rewarding, my goal is to learn as much as I can as I am interested in curation, and hopefully become a better writer.

Reading: Anne Koval, “Curating Sackville”

We were introduced to the idea of curating our own exhibitions.

Then we were put into 4 groups, my group was Theodore, Veronica, Aynsley, and myself. I feel confident that my group can manage curating an exhibition as there is a good mix of skills, three fine arts students and a history major. (I think Aynsley is a history major)

My group met on Friday September 5th to discuss our group project. We shuffled through many ideas and took many factors into consideration. We finally landed on an idea with lots of potential to build off of ... ZINES!! I personally love zines so I am very excited about this project.
