Before class we were asked to chose on of the 20 exhibitions to talk about.

I chose, Gloria Groom, the Chair of European Painting and Sculpture and the David and Mary Winton Green Curator, Art Institute of Chicago and the exhibition she curated called “Impressionism, Fashion, and Modernity,” a 2013 show at the Met and the Art Institute of Chicago.

I struggled to find more information about this exhibition but I was drawn to this image specifically. The use of fake grass in the gallery space was something I though was really innovative, and yes it would be a sensory nightmare, but I though the idea of it was clever. Some students in class didn't like the grass and thought it was excessive, and I agree but I think I can appreciate the concept. It is a way to make the gallery space a little more engaging and allow the viewer to feel immersed in the space
